Wishing my readers the one thing in life we all strive for...a happy heart

Today we took a trip to Saarbrucken. It's right on the border of Germany and France. Our nap schedule got messed up yesterday, so Ava was beat today and ended up sleeping the whole way there. She was very excited when we got out of the car. She ooohhh'd and aaawww'd at everything.
Such a tourist! :)

The Alte Brucke  (Old Bridge)
I think this was Ava's favorite from the whole day. She kept yelling that she was walking on the blue bridge!

Ludwigskirche (Ludwig's Church)
One of the many beautiful churches around. They even still hold services here. Unfortunately for my photos they were having a market today so I couldn't get just a clean shot of the church.

But if there wasn't a market today, we wouldn't have seen these cute bunnies!

Schloss Wall (Castle Wall)

We had to take a lot of stairs to get to the top of the wall! I thought Ava was going to give up on us but she didn't!

Here's the view from the top! You can see the Saar river from here.

Another church steeple and.....

A random (huge) tree stump!

Whip My Hair

Ava's loves when I put her hair in pig tails because then she can do this.....

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Paddy's Day!
We started our day with some green shamrock pancakes

and green milk
(that's right, we don't use lids over here anymore)!

Ava's green outfit:
green shirt, green pants, green shoes, green nail-polish, shamrock hair bow, and shamrock earrings

Quick photo with mommy

Leprechaun lunch
(I was supposed to use a green apple for the leprechaun's hat but didn't have one. So let's just pretend that this leprechaun took his hat off)

Hand print Art
(We hung it up on the fuse box in the apartment's main hallway)

Rainbow Cupcakes

Rainbow bath paint
On Saturday (3-19) we went to a St. Patrick's Day celebration (and yes we are wearing the same outfits, but I promise that I washed them)!

There were bag pipes

Leprechaun crafts

 Green jello

And dancing!

The majority of these St. Patrick's day activities were found at
please go check them out

Cereal with Milk

I have realized that for some reason I still haven't offered Ava cereal with milk even though she mastered using a spoon long, long ago. Today (3-16-11) I wasn't feeling well and I decided that we would have cereal for dinner. Easy Peasy! Plus it was Lucky Charms (I know...the SUGAR!) which was appropriate for St. Paddy's!
Here is Ava, eating cereal with milk for the first time! :)

Bowling Pins

So we found a cool project on one of my new fav blogs
Make your own Bowling Pins!

Creating the Bowling Pins:

Finished Product:
(We put pics on ours to cover up the sticky spot left from the label)

Testing it Out:

Oh, and we also made these little paper sheep. Ava loves Mickey Mouse and on one of her DVDs there is an episode about Daisy Bo Peep losing her sheep. SO, we made some sheep too. Now I hide them around the house and Ava (and Daisy of course) have to find them!
